.. for some reason I like the Stephanie Plum novels.
Name: Marc
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Favourite character: Mooner
Three interesting things about yourself:
1. I LOVE ska & punk music. I also like screamo, pop-punk, emo, hardcore and indie as well.
2. Im a soon-to-be college graduate. I'll graduate with an Associates Degree in graphic design on 7-18-2008. Hope to someday design album covers, t-shirts, fliers, websites/myspace profiles and do photography for bands.
3. I have a "celebrity crush" on Ashley Tisdale (the actress that played Sharpay in Disney's High School Musical) and on Hayley Williams (lead singer of the pop-punk band Paramore)
What would you do if you were Steph/Morelli/Ranger* for the day?: Wonder if I was on drugs because I became a fictional character
How did you get to this site?: magic
Funny story on how I started reading Steph Plum:
Well it was in 2003 when I was in the Army (served from 2002-2005). I was on a 2 1/2 month tour of Kuwait, doing guard missions in a place that really didn't need guarding, so there was a whole lot of nothing to do. Anyway, I got care package sent to me from some random charity. In it was baby wipes, cigarettes (which I sold for some phat cash, because I don't smoke), jolly ranchers, beef jerky, gum and 3 book. Now I gave 2 of the books away to my friend. For some reason I decided to keep 1, which was called Seven Up: A Stephanie Plum Novel. I almost gave it away, but read the back of the book and found out it was a comedy. Im someon who likes funny things, so I kept it. I was really surprised when I started reading and realized I had read the whole book. I loved it so much I ended up writing Janet thanking her for writing a book that occupied my time while in Kuwait.
So when I got back, I found Hard Eight read about half and skimmed through the 2nd half. I had some leave time and it was about a 6 hour drive home (from El Paso, TX to Phoenix, AZ). SO I got the abridged audio books 1-3 and listened to them on the trip. Bought 4-6 on Amazon, again read half skimmed through (I have a hard time focusing on one thing for a long period of time). In the Army you get assigned lovely things called CQ & Staff Duty, where you stay up all night at a desk. So during these times I ended up reading 9 & 10 all the way through.
Then about a week ago, I was at the library waiting for a friend to do some research for class. I found 11 there and started reading. I've been going back to the library every other day of so. Almost finished with 11. I don't want to check out the book, since I know I won't read it at home. So Im going back tomorrow to finish it. Today I found Lean Mean Thirteen at a thrift store for $2 (hard cover). So I got it, haven't read it yet. I'll do the library thing with 12 and hopefully have the attention span to read 13 at home.
That's my story on how I stared on Stephanie Plum, wow it was longer than I expected, sorry. But yeah Im not much of a reader, the only books I've read for fun are the Stephanie Plum novels.
