Yeah I totally agree. It seems like Evanovich is setting us up for something that wont happen, (does that make sense) but I want Ranger and Steph to get together. But then what about Morelli? True, I am a few books behind but that will all soon change ;D

I think Morelli could fall in love with someone easier than Ranger could...but, why then does Morelli stick by Stephanie, even with things the way they are? I don't know! *whines* My head hurts.

I couldnt think of the wording properly and I was trying to send it quickly. Ho hum. Ranger's true love could be himself... But he isnt that arrogant or vain. Lol.

Lol, not he's not. He's confident, but just to the extent of not doubting his ablities, rather than being arrogant. So, no, I don't think he loves himself lol.

No, I don't think he does either. But I think that the careful way he treats Steph shows that he really does care for her... even to the point of loving her. I'm just not sure that either of them really realise that, though I'm sure they will soon. It seems like they're being set up to get together more permanently, and you have to admit, I read and write this kind of thing a lot. That's the way it seems to me.

Yeah, that's exactly how it seems. But where does that leave Morelli? He wouldn't still be with her if he didn't really care for her?

He might be with her for the sex...

Then why would he bother to lecture her, when he knows she'll probably as likely as not, storm off and leave him? And why doesn't he just go to Terry?

Maybe he doesn't like Terry. And maybe he doesn't want her to kill or injure herself because then she won't be able to have sex with him... and this is all ridiculously unrealistic.

Yes, what you're saying is. I don't think Morelli's just in it for the sex. (as I've already said.) So be sensible!!

Who says we have to be sensible? Insensibility goes with immaturity, and who's always saying that makes life fun... oh yeah! It's you!

I think Ranger deeply loves Stephanie but doesn't want to pursue a permanent relationship until he's sure that she's got Morelli out of her system.
Morelli's always been a part of her life, so she has trouble letting go -- he's always been around, therefore she finds it hard to picture a future without him around. He's as much a part of her life as her family is.
Stephanie and Morelli care about each other and probably always will. I think Ranger's waiting for Steph to see that Morelli can be a part of her life without being her lover. When Ranger sees that Steph has caught on to that concept, he'll make his move.
And, since I stayed on topic at length, I feel I can interject an off topic question. What is "blinkered"? (Sorry to be ignorant. I'm only fluent in American English, but happy to learn some UK terms.)

Cecilia thinks I don't know hot men when I see them - thus, I"m 'blinkered'. What she doesn't understand is that my opinion of who's hot and who isn't differs from hers. I see plenty of hotness... I definitely think Ranger's waiting until Steph realises what she wants. He's not going to (really) pressure her if he knows it's not what she wants.
